US: Chemical Plant Fire Sends Massive Smoke Plume Over Southwest Chicago Suburb

A large fire broke out Wednesday evening at the Koppers chemical plant in Stickney, a southwest suburb of Chicago, sending a massive plume of dark smoke visible for miles along Interstate 55. The blaze was subsequently extinguished, and air quality testing showed no impact on the surrounding area, though residents were advised to keep their windows closed as a precaution.
